Police Funding

Sutton Smile is celebrating scooping a grant of £4000 from the Merseyside Police Property Fund.

We will be using the money to fund Sutton Village Christmas, which returns on Weds 14 and Thurs 15 December at Sutton Village Church, and also some fun activities for all ages in the Spring.

It was a long, hard process to source the funding, but the money will go to good use around the village.

Football Fridays

Friday night’s are becoming Football Fridays for a group of youngsters in Sutton.

Once a month, working in partnership, Helena and the local Police take a group of young lads from the village to Fives Football to let off some steam, and learn all about teamwork.

The number of children (aged 8-15) taking up this opportunity has gradually grown over the summer, and now there are a group of girls who are also looking to start up a team.

Sutton Smile sourced around £1000 worth of funding from Comic Relief to pay for transport to get the youngsters to Fives Football for the monthly event.

Sutton Spring Cleaned

On Saturday 5 March Sutton Smile teamed up with Civic Pride for our first Big Tidy Up of 2011.

Local residents joined us on Joseph Street to clear the area of litter.

We plan more tidy ups throughout the year, so keep your eyes peeled for details.

We’ve also enlisted Network Rail in our project, and they have assured us they will be clearing up land which belongs to them.
